WorkPace : health and safety for computer users

Software for preventing Repetitive Stress Injury (RSI)

Wellnomics®

Wellnomics’ Netherlands distributor ErgoDirect, based in Almere, has signed up the first customers for Wellnomics new Risk Management software package. These first clients, which include Akzo Nobel Car Finishes, Cap Gemini and AZL are the first to step up from Wellnomics WorkPace to the comprehensive Risk Management programme that offers full reporting and management tools to protect office workers from work related injuries.

Wellnomics Risk Management has been developed in co-operation with research institute TNO. The programme analyses and controls the risk factors that affect the health, wellbeing and productivity of office workers. This is done through the collection and comparison of data regarding computer use, work patterns, and personal and work related stress factors – all elements that can contribute to computer related injuries. Wellnomics Risk Management translates this information in pragmatic solutions and recommendations for each risk group, both on personal and organizational level, allowing HR and safety & health managers to take specific and effective measures to reduce these risks.

The sign-up of the first Wellnomics Risk Management customers coincides with ErgoDirect’s move to a new building as of 22 October. Their new premises, at the Palmpolstraat in Almere, have increased warehousing facilities and feature a large show room for its ergonomic office products, as well as new training and demonstration facilities.

“Wellnomics congratulates ErgoDirect on securing the first contracts for Risk Management,” says Wellnomics’ European Sales Director Alan Vickers. “We also wish them continued success in their new premises and look forward to being able to make use of the state of the art venue for running client training and education programmes.”

“In addition to supporting the growth of our business, we also wanted more room for training sessions and product demonstrations. Especially with the increased capabilities and reporting tools of Risk Management in mind,” said John van Hooft, Managing Director of ErgoDirect. “After all, it is important that HR and health and safety (arbo) managers working with the system fully understand the software so they can do their jobs even better.”

Although ED plan to have their official opening ceremony for the new building in January 2008, the new demonstration and training facilities are already in use. “We have our first Wellnomics Risk Management demonstration scheduled for 9 November, and will be following this with a full schedule of training sessions and demonstrations throughout 2008 ,” adds John van Hooft.

To support Ergo Direct with their sales plan for Risk Management, Wellnomics will shortly open an office in the Netherlands and relocate a New Zealand sales director to focus solely on the Netherlands market. This will be Wellnomics’ first office outside their New Zealand base and demonstrates their commitment to the Dutch market.
