Slow your Mouse down! (and reduce hand pain)
Slowing down your mouse greatly reduces muscle tension in your hand
- Open Control Panel from Task Bar / Start / Settings / Control Panel
- In Control Panel double-click on Mouse
- Select Motion
- Under Pointer Speed move the slider hard left to Slow
- Click OK

Do less tapping on the arrow keys.
- Open Control Panel from Task Bar / Start / Settings / Control Panel
- In Control Panel double-click on Keyboard
- Push all sliders hard right
- Repeat delay - Short, Repeat rate - Fast, Cursor blink rate - Fast
Speed up your Screen! (and avoid eye strain)
Less screen flicker causes less headaches and reduces eye fatigue.
- Open Control Panel from Task Bar / Start / Settings / Control Panel
- In Control Panel double-click on Display
- Select Settings
- Under Refresh Frequency select (and test) the highest rate your screen will work with (ideally 85 Hz, but at least 75 Hz)
- Re-adjust size and shape of screen using monitor controls.

This allows you to fit far more information on your screen.
- Open Control Panel from Task Bar / Start / Settings / Control Panel
- In Control Panel double-click on Display
- Select Settings
- Under Desktop Area move the slider to the right to 800 by 600. (If you have a 17 inch screen try 1024 by 768 pixels)
- Press OK to test. If test is successful keep new setting
- Change the Refresh Frequency to 70-75 Hz or higher (see here)
- Re-adjust size and shape of screen using monitor controls.
- If text is too small then under Font Size choose Large Fonts
- Click OK
